One regional plan, with your property’s jurisdiction in view.
Reno–Tahoe spans Nevada and California. Your address determines the local requirements that apply. Roof debris, deck connections, vegetation and access are reviewed together, while material choices and scheduling reflect the property and proposed work.
Roof and deck connections
Review accumulated roof debris, vents, roof-to-wall intersections and the underside of attached decks. These details help distinguish immediate maintenance from material upgrades and installation work.
Vegetation work with practical access
For wooded and sloped Tahoe properties, discuss vegetation near the building, access for the work and how cut material will be handled. Include seasonal access limits and any tree-work recommendations in the request.
Address and state guide the scope
Reno–Tahoe includes properties on both sides of the state line. Include your full address and any local inspection report so the estimate can account for the applicable jurisdiction and proposed materials.
What to include in your request
Provide the full address and state, photographs, seasonal access details, and any local or insurer inspection notes. Mention tree work, slope or HOA constraints early so the scope can account for them.
Planning your project
Does the California insurance example apply to Nevada homes?
No. The California FAIR Plan example applies only to an eligible California policy. Nevada homeowners should ask their own insurer or broker which documented improvements qualify for any available discount.
Can I request work at a seasonal Tahoe or Truckee home?
Yes. Include the property address, photos and the periods when access is available. Note snow-related access limits, gate instructions and HOA requirements so site-visit needs and the work schedule can be discussed.
What happens after I request an estimate?
We confirm receipt by email, review your address and proposed work, and reach out to discuss the project. The team confirms scope, site-visit needs and scheduling before work begins.
Can improvements reduce my insurance premium?
Insurance discounts vary by state, insurer and policy. The California FAIR Plan example on our calculator does not establish savings for a property outside California. Ask your insurer or broker about eligible improvements and retain records of the completed work.
