A1 EMBER HOME HARDENING

Estimate potential home-hardening insurance savings.

Explore how an additional mitigation discount could affect your premium, then plan home-hardening and defensible-space improvements with our team. Your insurer determines eligible work, documentation requirements, and the actual discount.

Make the estimate yours

Start with the example, or adjust the figures to match your policy.

Your current yearly premium, including existing discounts.

A new reduction on your current eligible premium. Do not add separate upgrade discounts together.

An insurer may discount only part of your premium, such as wildfire coverage.

The current annual amount the new discount would apply to.

Changing this label does not verify the figure or replace the sample amounts.

The starting $6,000 premium, $4,000 eligible portion, and 10% discount are illustrative examples, not typical rates or guaranteed savings. Replace every sample figure with your policy information.

How we calculate savings & what to ask your insurer

How this comparison works

Annual savings: current eligible annual premium × additional discount ÷ 100. Monthly equivalent: annual savings ÷ 12; this is not a monthly bill. Annual premium after the scenario: current total annual premium minus annual savings. Five-year savings: annual savings × 5.

Simple payback from insurance savings only: each end of the installation estimate range, including its access adjustment and planning contingency, divided by annual savings. This compares installation cost with assumed insurance savings; it does not subtract installation cost from your premium or include other potential benefits.

The five-year and payback comparisons assume a constant premium and discount. They do not account for future premium changes, delays, maintenance, financing, taxes, or the time value of money.

Ask your insurer

Discount eligibility and amounts vary by insurer and policy. Confirm which selected work qualifies, what photographs, invoices, product information, or inspection are needed, the premium amount the discount applies to, and its effective date.
