Match the work to open-land and hillside properties.

The plan considers vegetation near buildings, connections to surrounding fuels, slope, access and debris removal. Exterior openings can be reviewed alongside landscape work so building concerns are recorded for the appropriate follow-up.

Define vegetation work around the property

Review grass, brush, trees and other combustible materials near structures and along access routes. A defined treatment area helps connect immediate defensible-space needs with any broader fuels-management project.

Record exterior gaps and openings

An exterior gap review identifies building details that need closer attention alongside landscape work. It does not automatically include a roof, window or vent replacement; those tasks require their own installation scope.

Plan for slope, access and debris

For Grand Valley and Western Slope sites, share photos and access details along with the estimated area of work. Discuss what vegetation should remain, what needs treatment and how cut material will be handled.

What to include in your request

Include the full address, approximate work area, photographs and site-access information. If the request also involves the building exterior, identify the vents, gaps, decks or other components you want reviewed.

Planning your project

Is this the same service region as Colorado’s Front Range?

No. Western Slope projects have a separate regional service listing. Selecting the appropriate region helps the team review your location and scope together.

Can the estimate include both vegetation work and an exterior review?

Yes. Describe both priorities. The proposed scope can include defensible-space work and a review of exterior gaps, with any larger construction project identified separately for follow-up.

What happens after I request an estimate?

We confirm receipt by email, review your address and proposed work, and reach out to discuss the project. The team confirms scope, site-visit needs and scheduling before work begins.

Can improvements reduce my insurance premium?

Insurance discounts vary by state, insurer and policy. The California FAIR Plan example on our calculator does not establish savings for a property outside California. Ask your insurer or broker about eligible improvements and retain records of the completed work.
