A1 EMBER TERRAIN / PROCESS IN DEVELOPMENT

From property capture to documented mitigation priorities.

The Terrain workflow is in development. The proposed steps connect aerial imagery, accessible exterior observations, and source records so homeowners can discuss mitigation priorities and any independent review requirements.

1. Define the inspection

Agree the property area, access, questions to answer and intended use of the record. Identify any certification program the homeowner wants to pursue so its requirements can be considered from the start. Confirm the deliverables and any limits on coverage before collection.

2. Capture and build

Collect the agreed aerial imagery and accessible exterior views. Create a photographic model, connect observations to locations and check geometry against suitable site measurements. Mark areas that could not be captured or need a closer look.

3. Check accessible details on site

Document accessible building details, surrounding vegetation, and material condition. Vent records would include product identifiers, available documentation, and visible installation details. Record uncertainty where labels, concealed areas, or access prevent confirmation.

4. Prioritize and retain the evidence

Organize confirmed observations, recommended follow-up and unresolved questions. Keep photographs, selected product information and completed-work records together so an installer or independent reviewer can understand what changed.

5. Confirm any independent designation requirements

An independent program issues its own certification or designation through its own criteria and review. For example, IBHS operates Wildfire Prepared Home. A Terrain checklist, sample status, or property model does not award that designation.

The homeowner would need to confirm the program’s availability, eligibility, and evidence requirements for the property. An independent designation does not itself establish an insurer’s acceptance, pricing, or coverage terms.

Development and future availability

This workflow is in development. Call (347) 987-9521 to discuss the proposed process and your documentation needs. Any future inspection would require confirmed availability, an agreed scope, and defined deliverables.
